TTC free for children 12 and under

As of March 1, 2015, the TTC will be free for children 12 and under. Proof-of-age cards are available to kids who are tall for their age.

If you have a stash of now-useless child tickets, you can return them after March 1 at the Warden, Bloor/Yonge, Kipling or Davisville stations.

The school concert is on March 5, 7pm at SATEC. (Students arrive at 6:30.)

Pizza lunch is February 25

Pizza lunch is Wednesday February 25. Orders are due Feb 20. In case you can't find the order form, you can download and print a copy. Please circle February's date.

P.A. Day, Family Day and Winter Activity Day

Thursday February 12 is Winter Activity Day at Clairlea. 

• The junior and intermediate classes (grades 4-8) will be skating or skiing.
• The primary classes will be doing a winter carnival at the school. 
• The kindergarten classes will be doing a Valentine's Day activity. 

Friday February 13 is a P.A. Day. School will be closed.

Monday February 16 is Family Day, a statutory holiday, and school will be closed.

Report cards go home on Feb 10. There is no particular day dedicated to parent-teacher interviews; teachers will be in touch with their individual plans.

Thinking about high school? You'll want to read this

If you're starting to think about high school, you will be interested in a new tip sheet from People for Education on choosing courses for grade 9. 

In March, this year's grade 8 students will be submitting their course selections for grade 9 - including whether they plan to take applied or academic courses in math, science, French and English. These important choices affect what a student can study in grade 11 and 12. In particular, People for Education has a caution about applied courses and success in school. 

Meet our trustee, Parthi Kandavel - Feb 18

Our new TDSB trustee, Mr. Parthi Kandavel - our elected representative to the Toronto District School Board - will attend the School Council meeting on Wednesday February 18, 7:00pm at the school. If you would like to meet him, please do attend!
