A COUPLE OF SAFETY ISSUES TO PLEASE KEEP IN MIND….
FOOD AT THE SCHOOL: Many Clairlea students and staff have allergies and some are life threatening.   As a community, we must work together to provide a safe environment for all. We ask you to ensure that no peanut or other nut products enter our building. Seafood & shellfish also pose a threat to some of our students.
Please take the time to read the list of ingredients carefully on all products. Here are some examples of foods that contain these potentially life threatening items:
                                                                NUTELLA – Contains Hazelnuts
SEAWEED SNACKS – Contain Fish Sauce, Salmon or other fish products
PEANUT BUTTER GRANOLA BARS – Contain Peanuts
TUNA OR SUSHI – Fish Products
PESTO SAUCE – Can contain pine nuts and anchovy paste

CARS AT THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL: Rosalind St. is the street that is directly in front of the main entrance to the school.  There are multiple signs that clearly indicate parking/stopping/drop offs and pickups are not allowed at anytime on this street.  We are all in a hurry in the morning but please take the extra couple of minutes to park your cars where you are allowed to and follow the signage.
Not following these simple traffic rules can cause the following safety issues:
-          If an emergency vehicle ie. Fire truck, had to gain access to the area you would be blocking them
-          Many children are walking at the start/stop of school and lunch hours of the school if you are driving in or backing out you could collide with the heavy walking traffic and cause injury
-          You are setting an example and teaching your children that by dropping them off or picking them up on Rosalind that they also do not need to obey the traffic signs
-          You could be blocking a resident's driveway thus causing them to have to wait for you before they can drive in or out

HOW TO REACH US…
If you would like to unsubscribe to this email (we hope you don’t) or know someone that would like to be added to the distribution list please send a request to clairleacouncil@gmail.com.  We would like to hear your feedback and suggestions.  Do you have any feedback about how we can make it better for next year or what you liked about it this year?  If you are not able to come to the next meeting and want to contribute ideas please email them to us or drop a note in the council box in the office and we can bring them forward to the meeting.    You can contact us via email at clairleacouncil@gmail.com, on the blog at http://clairleacouncil.blogspot.com, or have a look at our bulletin board outside the office for the latest news.
