ReplyDeleteWe've actually sourced healthier options for pizza this year, and have eliminated the chips that used to accompany them. To clarify, what we call the "nutrition program" provides food for children who are hungry at school - due to lack of resources, forgotten lunches, growth spurts or other issues. "Healthy living" meant sports equipment, team uniforms, balls and games for the playground and things like that.
A wonderful parent who wishes to remain anonymous has fully funded the nutrition program for the school year, so pizza lunch proceeds are now being directed to support the school improvement plan.
