Dear Clairlea Families….
I am pleased to announce that we had a very successful
Funfair last week and our net profits came to $6000 which will be put towards
the fitness equipment for Clairlea. We have surpassed the last 2
Funfairs. Thank you to all that came out and participated, contributed,
supported and volunteered to make the event a success. We hope that you
enjoyed your time and we look forward to doing it again next year.
Even though the Funfair is over we received another donation for
the silent auction after the fact that we will auction off starting today (Friday June 24th at
9:00am). Please see the details below.

School Council Next Year…
We hope everyone has a fun and safe summer and we will start
back up again in the fall. Our first meeting will take place on Wednesday
September 21st at 7:00pm, where we will hold our elections for the
School Council Executive for the term of 2016/2017 – all positions are open
(Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and Fundraising Chair). If you
have any questions about any of these positions please email clairleacouncil@gmail.com.
Our meetings are always every third Wednesday of the month from 7:00-8:30pm
(with the exception of December and June where no meetings will be held) and
free childminding is available. Meetings are open to all Clairlea
Community members and we encourage you to get involved in your school.

Thank you, Clairlea!
I'm remiss in not posting this earlier -- but wasn't the Fun Fair great??? Huge thanks to all of the volunteers who put it together, especially Irit, Wayne, Wendy, Russ, Carl, Joanne and the other lead volunteers (I'm sure I'm missing some - I'm sorry) as well as all the teachers and parents who volunteered their time; the companies and community members who donated food, supplies, prizes, auction items, cakes and candy jars; and of course all of you -- the wonderful Clairlea families who came to support and enjoy the event.
I haven't heard a final tally but word is that the Fun Fair raised a terrific amount toward sports equipment at Clairlea. Thank you and congratulations!

A Fun Fair update from the Chair
Dear Clairlea
Families….
Less than a week to go! The Clairlea Funfair is Thursday June 16th
from 5:30-8:30pm. Here is a sneak peek at some of the items
you will see at the Raffle and Silent Auction Table at the Funfair. All
items have been generously donated by the Clairlea community and we are very
grateful. On Thursday June 16th come bid or buy tickets to win
one of these great prizes.

Purchase a Funpass wristband for $15/each and enjoy most activities as

make this Funfair a success. Without the help of volunteers we wouldn’t
be able to make this happen.

If you have some candy around the house we can still use prizes for the lollipop game. Alternatively swing by the dollar store and buy $5 worth of candy as well as lollipops to pull. Throw some candy/chocolates in a small jar or bag and drop them off at the school.

Message from the Chair
Dear Clairlea Families….
The Clairlea Funfair is a couple of weeks away!!
We hope to see everyone there on Thursday June 16th from
5:30-8:30pm. Bring your neighbours, friends and family all are
welcome.
Please find attached a complete FunFairMap illustrating where all the activities
will be on the day as well as a FunFair Legend that provides a
description of each FunFair activity and the cost involved.
THE FUNPASS WRISTBAND IS
BACK!!! We have brought back the FunPass Wristband
this year. For $15/each you can enjoy unlimited access to many of the activities.
Details about the FunPass Wristband and which activities are included are specified in the attached Legend document. Individual Tickets are
also available for purchase.
A big thank you to all the volunteers, donations and support to date from the Clairlea Community and Clairlea Staff.
All revenue earned from the Funfair will go towards
purchasing outdoor sports equipment for Clairlea grades JK to grade 8.
We still need your help!!!! Please
see below how you can help to make the Funfair a success.
HOW CAN YOU HELP (FUNFAIR

1. CAKE
WALK: Make/Buy a cake or 2 and donate them to the Cake Walk
Room. Please bring all cake donations to the Staff Room on the day of the
Funfair (June 16th). If possible please include a small card
indicating what ingredients were used. Peanut free please.
2. LOLLIPOP
GAME: Donate little candy filled jars/bags and
large lollipops (A picture is attached of the lollipops that work best with the game) to be used for the Candy Pull game at the Funfair.
Please drop off any items in the School office prior to Friday June 10th.
3. RAFFLE
BASKET: Donate a basket or any new items we can include in a basket to be raffled off at the
funfair. Please drop off any items in the School office prior to Friday
June 10th.
4. SILENT
AUCTION: Donate any new item/service or gift card you’re not
using, or ask your company/business to make a donation. Please drop off
any items in the School office prior to Friday June 10th.
5. VOLUNTEER: Volunteer
your time to help out from 5:30-8:30pm on Thursday June 16th for any
of the Fun Fair activities, email clairleacouncil@gmail.com.
6. MARKET
VENDOR: Purchase a spot for $25.00 in our Clairlea
Funfair Market to sell your homemade items or services, email clairleacouncil@gmail.com to make a
reservation.
7. ADVERTISE:
Help us advertise the Funfair to the Community, post it on your blog,
announce it to your group, let your soccer, hockey, baby group, baseball and
gymnastics groups know about it and invite them to come.
8. SUPERHERO
COSTUMES NEEDED: Donate costumes that we can use in our
Superhero Dress up room. We need Superman, Batman, Ironman, Spiderman,
Wonder Woman or any costume you have! Please drop off any items in the School
office prior to Friday June 10th.
9. BE
THERE: Come enjoy and have dinner at the Funfair!
