Pizza lunch orders due tomorrow

Pizza lunch orders are due tomorrow. If you need to, you can download and print the order form. Please send it to school with your child. Proceeds from pizza lunch support the nutrition and healthy living programs at Clairlea. Pizza lunch is on January 30.

Isn't this like buying your kid some weed as long as the dealer chips in for rehab?

Thanks for the comment, your point is well taken.

We've actually sourced healthier options for pizza this year, and have eliminated the chips that used to accompany them. To clarify, what we call the "nutrition program" provides food for children who are hungry at school - due to lack of resources, forgotten lunches, growth spurts or other issues. "Healthy living" meant sports equipment, team uniforms, balls and games for the playground and things like that.

A wonderful parent who wishes to remain anonymous has fully funded the nutrition program for the school year, so pizza lunch proceeds are now being directed to support the school improvement plan.

Clairlea Parent Council

The Clairlea PS School Council is a way for parents to get involved in their child's education and make the school a better place to learn. The Council works with the school administration to foster dialogue among parents and the school. We discuss issues, address concerns and keep the community abreast of school activities. The School Council organizes and supports many fundraising activities each year. Click here for a School Council 101.

School Council meets on the third week of every month, 7:00pm-8:30pm. Anyone with a child at Clairlea can attend - you do not need to be an official voting member of council to attend the meetings.
